Google has released even more information about Google Stadia today. It will be able to run 4K 60FPS and 5.1 Surround Sound with a connection of at least 35MBPS(millabytes per second is a unit that measures the speed of your internet connection). At launch later this year the service will be eligible on TV’s, desktops, Laptops, Tablets, and Pixel phones starting with the Pixel 3 and 3XL, and 3A and 3A XL and eventually other smartphones. The service will do this with no downloads, no patches, and no installs. You won’t need a big, bulky console such as an Xbox One X or a PS4 since the storage will come from Google’s datacenters. You wil need a controller or a mouse and keyboard to play Stadia. Cognoscenti recommends the Stadia Controller since it is meant specifically for Stadia. To play on a TV however, you will need to buy seperately a Google Chromecast Ultra. With all the other platforms all you need is the free Chrome browser. There will also be a Stadia app on a Pixel 3.
Their standard Stadia Pro will cost $9.99/month and includes 4K, HDR, 60 fps, and 5.1 Surround Sound and will come out sometime in November later this year. Google’s premium edition is their Stadia Founders Edition which costs $129 and you can pre order right now. This gives you early access to Stadia. It comes with the Google Chromecast Ultra, a limited edition Stadia controller, and 3 months of Stadia Pro. It also comes with a 3 month Stadia Pro Buddy Pass which you can give to a friend or a family member. You will also get the Stadia name you want before anyone else, and the bragging rights. Finally, you will enjoy all the glory that Destiny 2 has to offer. There will also be Stadia Base, which is where you pay a certain price for a game and has the same quality as Stadia Pro with 4K HDR 60fps and 5.1 Surround Sound. It is certainly an option but if you play lots of different games, go with Stadia Pro or the Founder’s Edition.
Google Stadia is impressive and innovative. It’s unique and at a competitive price. Who knows? Maybe your next gaming equiment won’t be a big and bulky console. Instead, it will be the Google Stadia.
